Deaner’s birthday was going to be a rager. I knew it, Kurt knew it, Jack knew it, Ingrid knew it, even Bunz my dog knew this lol. There was an influx of signups and we may have forgotten to track them all but on the night of, we had a whopping 12 bands plus our house act. The Edibles were hittin’ hard and the room was packed. I can’t say I remember a lot about this one either except folks from Calgary don’t always appreciate a good cheap menthol. There was a strong return of old classics like Rat Grenade and Electrocutie, and of course, Even Oddity took the cake, plus their pre show promo game was deadly. It took me 4 days to sober up but we survived, white knuckled and sloshed by the Grace of Daryl. (the bar extended their usual hours 45 minutes to let our event play out. Love the Bovine.)
